I represent a small (but proud) R/C club located in the Columbia Basin. Most of our sails are at the KOA campground in Yakima. We have an annual event the weekend after Labor Day. Since this year the Saturday is Sept. 11 we decided to try and make it a really big deal and invite clubs from around the State.

I want to take this opportunity to personally invite you and all your club members to this event. Also I would consider it a personal favor if you would forward these flyers and my contact information on to any and all of your club membership as well as anyone else who may have an interest. Admittedly our pond is not attractive to hydros as the water is kind of dirty and the pond size does not lend itself to racing. Pictures are available on my website. Perhaps some members have sail powered or electrics that donít mind some dirty water?

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions..

Reservations at KOA are recommended. Let them know you with the Kanoff and/or boat club and they will try to clump us. Also if those who are going would let me know I can make sure I have enough prime rib. I BBQ a mean prime rib!

11-10-03 Roger Newton relayed some great news from last weekend. He was in the Vancouver, Washington and Portland, Oregon area at a RCU function and met up with local electric racer Garry Finlay and some of his friends. Roger brought a few of the Oregon RCU members with him, and his 1/10th scale Miss Thriftway. Roger took it out for a run, and let everybody have a turn driving it. Roger and Garry have been trying to meet up for some time, but the wait was worth it as it appears that we may be seeing up to six new boats being registered from the Portland area. They'll be contacting Big Dave soon.
