Format
Four preliminary heats of five laps each
Modern winner-take-all final heat
Vintage winner-take-all final heat
Chuck Hickling Memorial – vintage first consolation. Counts as a race win.
Bob Miller Memorial – modern first consolation. Counts as a race win.
Second and third connies in each class will be run if turnout supports them.
The top seven boats in each class will automatically be seeded in to the final. The seventh boat to qualify for each final will start as a trailer.
Boats 8-13 in the vintage class will be seeded into the Chuck Hickling Memorial. Winner does not move into the Oregon Emerald Cup final, but is awarded a race win for the Chuck Hickling Memorial.
Boats 14-20 in the vintage class will be seeded into the second connie. Winner will have the opportunity to move up to the Chuck Hickling Memorial as the trailer.
Boats 8-13 in the modern class will be seeded into the Bob Miller Memorial. The seventh boat to qualify for the Bob Miller Memorial will start as a trailer.
(The connies will be named the Chuck Hickling Memorial (vintage) and the Bob Miller Memorial (modern), and both will count as an official race win for the first place finishers. These two race wins would be in addition to the Oregon Emerald Cup, which will go to the first place finisher in each winner-take-all final heat.)
Schedule:
7-9 a.m. – Race course and pit area set up
9-10 a.m. – Registration open
9-10:30 a.m. – Practice and testing (open water)
10:30-10:40 a.m. – Mandatory drivers meeting at official tower
10:40 a.m. – “Five to the One” for modern heat 1A
10:45 a.m. – Modern heat 1A
10:55 a.m. – Modern heat 1B
11 a.m. – Vintage heat 1A
Approximately 4 p.m. – Modern class winner-take-all final heat
Approximately 4:15 p.m. – Vintage class winner-take-all final heat
Approximately 5 p.m. – Trophy presentation
(Trophy presentation to be followed immediately by club equipment cleanup and pits breakdown).
