Notes about the model: Patrick acquired the unfinished, bare Campbell hull when he purchased Tony Perman’s Miss Spokane. The boat was returned to the Campbell boat shop where it was finished and outfitted with a Brushless Motor. The boat handles well, and when all is right, it is very fast.
Notes about the real boat: The former 1976 Miss Budweiser, Bernie Little sold the boat to Ken Thompson of Tri Cities who had it converted to a cabover configuration for the 1981 season. The boat was driven by Jack Schaefer Jr and appeared in Tri-Cities, Seattle, and San Diego. The hull later became the Miss Prodelco, the Budweiser Light, and the American Speedy Printing, when it won the 1983 Columbia Cup. It was also the original Lite All-Star, which helped bring Miller Brewing Company into the sport. Notes about 2007: Finished 13th in Modern High points, while competing in only seven events during the 2007 season. As the season went on, changes to the boats set up (including propeller work and air dam) made the boat faster and more stable. The boat scored Gleason his first heat win, and made the final at a couple of races. Preseason testing in 2008 has proven successful, with more work and more testing planned during the winter.
