Notes about the Model: This has been a consistant performer with a number of drivers. It's formerly one of Steve Twardus' boats, and before being sold to Jesse, it was Ron Hartley's first boat in ERCU. The boat had a number of podium finishes in 2006 including a win by Henry Marvin at the Bill Brow Memorial.
Notes about the real boat: The U-64 was a 1976 Les Staudacher creation, powered by a turbocharged Allison engine and raced as MISS VERNORS. As the Suire Shop, the boat posted three second-place finishes in 1978 at Detroit, Madison, and San Diego.
Notes about 2007: Ron attended five races this year, amassing 4,339 points in the Red Dot Championship Series, good for 15th place.
Notes about 2008: Ron attended three races this year, amassing 2,029 points in the Red Dot Championship Series. After the boat was purchased by Jesse, he ran it at the last three races of the season: the Roger Newton Memorial, the Cascade Cup/NAMBA World Championships and the Bernie Little Memorial, and scored 2,109 points with it. Jesse bought the hull after retiring his 1976 Spirit of Dayton Walther.
