Notes about the model: This was Roger Newton's last 1/10-scale hull, built in 2006 and finished in 2007.

Notes about the real boat: Launched in 1955, as the U-11 Rebel, Suh. it was sold after the inagural season to Wm. T "Bill" Waggoner, and renamed Maverick, U-12. It came into it's own by 1957 and again in 1958 winning four races in a 24 month period. 

Notes about 2008: Owned by Kirk Pagel, the Maverick saw limited action, racing in just three contests, but driven by Zane Courtway, an up and coming young driver.
