About the real boat: The real boat, owned by Stan Sayres, brought unlimited racing to Seattle and Northwest in 1951 when it won the Gold Cup in Detroit. Notes about 2007: A great year for the Earnests. A major reason is because the boats are electric and not the gas unlimited 1/8 size which means almost no grease and oil on the boat. It is much more relaxed we can wait if someone is not ready. At five pounds the wife can put the boats in the water and give the hull a shove and come and help coach. We also enjoy the beautiful race sites.
