Notes about the model: A new hull for 2006. High Sierra built a male mold to create this composite boat. The detailing is great. Superior aerodynamic para bola (teardrop) shape combined with a central lifting moment make the Hurricane IV a unique racing craft.

About the real boat: A California boat built by Fred Wickens and owner/driver Morlan Visel. The first true three point tunnel hull in Gold Cup competition.

Notes about 2007: After a good start in 2007, the Hurricane IV suffered engine woes. Unable to start the first two heats at the Seafair Trophy race, the crew of the Skip-A-Long leased the fellow Californian boat a motor. The Hurricane battled back to capture third place in the second connie.
