Notes
about the model: A new boat from Newton
Marine for the 2005 season. The $ Bill finished 23rd in points for 2006.
Notes
a bout the real boat: Bill Schuyler a farmer and landowner from Lompoc, Calif., raced limiteds before he purchased his first $-Bill unlimited in 1959. Schuyler replaced that poor-handling boat with a Staudacher craft in 1962. Family members made up the crew of Schuyler's low budget team, which never won a race. During its racing career it had many names and was piloted by some very famous drivers. At one point and time Rex Manchester, Billy Schumacher, Norm Evans, Bill Muncey, Chuck Hickling and Warner Gardner all sat behind the wheel of this hull. The boat had potential. But the owner (Bill Schuyler) liked to "tinker" and couldn't leave well enough alone. The boat didn't really "come alive" until 1968 when it won three races as Dave Heerensperger's Miss Eagle Electric (U-25). This is the boat that Warner Gardner was killed in driving at Detroit in 1968.
Notes
about 2007: Ron Hartley bought the boat during the offseason and ran in five races during the 2007 season, finishing 19th in the Red Dot Championship Series with 3,736 points
